Fernando Alonso has been stripped of his pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix after he pushed teammate Lewis Hamilton to the second post.

The Spanish driver delayed Hamilton in the pit lane, which meant he was too late for his final lap.

The 22-year-old British driver was the fastest until the Spaniard pipped him by few seconds with his final lap of the session.

McLaren team boss Ron Dennis and manager Dave Ryan were called into a meeting with Grand Prix stewards and an inquiry was ordered.

But Hamilton, who leads Alonso by two championship points, refused to criticise his teammate.

In the end, however, it was decided that Alonso would be stripped of his pole position.
