Milan:

A move to Italy could become a real possibility for Manchester United and England star David Beckham as his wife wants to buy a house near Lake Como, according to Corriere dello Sport. The paper said Victoria Beckham, formerly a member of pop band The Spice Girls, is very keen to live by the picturesque lake, less than 60 kilometres from the northern city of Milan. The Corriere reported that Victoria is interested in moving to the quaint village of Moltrasio where American actor George Clooney and fashion designer Donetella Versace also have houses. Pop diva Madonna and American rock star Bruce Springsteen are regular visitors to Lake Como when visiting Europe. Cernobbio, a village a few kilometres south of Moltrasio, is home to several Inter Milan players including Argentine striker Hernan Crespo, Uruguayan forward Alvaro Recoba and captain Javier Zanetti. The Corriere said Victoria, nicknamed 'Posh Spice', spent three days in Milan last week so that she could look at houses near Como. The singer wants to move there so that her sons Brooklyn and Romeo are away from the media spotlight which follows her and husband David, the paper said. David Beckham was reported to be on the verge of quitting Manchester United last month after being hit in the face by a boot kicked across the dressing room by manager Alex Ferguson after an FA Cup defeat by Arsenal.
