Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo predicted Friday he will perform even better during the final stretch of the season than at the start, saying he feels "phenomenal".
The 26-year-old Portuguese international became the first Real player to score 50 goals in only 51 league games after he scored twice during his side's 4-1 home win over Real Sociedad on Sunday.
He now sits top of the La Liga scoring charts this season alongside Barcelona's Argentina international Lionel Messi with 24 goals.
"I think I'm going to be better during the final phase of the championship than in the beginning. I feel better now than I did one or two months ago," Ronaldo said during an interview with radio Cadena Ser.
"The truth is that I feel phenomenal and I want that to be reflected on the pitch."
Real Madrid sit second place in Spain's top flight, seven points behind arch rivals Barcelona.
Ronaldo also said becoming a father last year had been the "fulfillment of a life-long dream".
"For me it was one of the best things that has happened in my life. At the start it was a bit strange, but you soon get used to it. I am very happy," he added in rare comments about his fatherhood.
Ronaldo announced in July 2009 he had fathered a baby boy with a woman who has chosen to remain anonymous and with whom he has agreed to keep exclusive guardianship of the child.
"He is going to have a lot of pressure, being the son of someone famous, it is going to be difficult but it is part of life," he said.
