Real Madrid, the leading Spanish football club, celebrated its 110th anniversary on Tuesday.
Madrid Football Club was founded on March 6, 1902. In 1920, Spanish King Alfonso III bestowed the title 'real', that means royal in Spanish, to the club, and hence it became Real Madrid
Real was won La Liga title 31 times, it is a national record, while it won Copa del Rey (Cup of Spain) 18 and the Super Cup eight times.
It won the League of Champions nine times. It has won the UEFA Cup twice and the UEFA Super Cup once. It also won the Intercontinental Cup (FIFA Club World Cup) three times.
Florentino Perez is the President of the club while Jose Mourinho is the manager of the team. Some of the best football talents have represented the club in these 110 years.
Iker Casillas, who is also the goalkeeper of the team, is the current captain of the team.
