The pressure is already on big-spending Bayern Munich after one just one game of the season when it travels to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Despite investing close to €44 million ($63 million) to shore up its defense in the offseason, Bayern was surprised 1-0 at home by Borussia Moenchengladbach, and another defeat could see it fall six points behind main title rival Borussia Dortmund two games into the season.

Defending champion Dortmund - which travels to Hoffenheim - carried on where it left off with a comprehensive 3-1 win over Hamburg on the opening weekend.

Borussia Moenchengladbach hosts Stuttgart in Saturday's late game, with Bayer Leverkusen - last year's runner-up - hosting Werder Bremen on Sunday.
