Poland face Ecuador at the AufSchalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Friday in the second match of the World Cup. Both teams trained on Thursday ahead of a game which could decide who qualifies for the knockout stages behind Group A favourites Germany. The hosts Germany play Costa Rica in Munich in the opening match of the tournament. The eyes of the world will be focused on Germany on Friday as the World Cup finally gets underway. If as expected, Germany coast though as Group A winners, the game could go a long way to deciding who takes the runner-up spot. Fans of both teams congregated around the stadium on Thursday, with summer, it seems, finally arriving in Germany. Ecuador's supporters were arguably were the more vociferous are hoping to go away with bragging rights after Friday's encounter. (AP)
