Tomasz Klos, Euzebiusz Smolarek and Sebastian Mila scored in Poland's 3-0 victory over Ecuador in a friendly on Sunday. Klos gave the Poles a great start on a sodden field at FC Barcelona's Miniestadi stadium by heading in a corner in the second minute. It wasn't until the 58th that Smolarek doubled the lead, after Ecuador goalkeeper Damian Lanza parried Kamil Kosowski's attempt. Mila rounded off the victory with his team's third goal in the final minute. "Poland adapted quicker to the conditions and that's why it won. We never expected a field in such poor state," said Ecuador midfielder Edwin Tenorio. The match paired two World Cup qualifiers. Poland finished runner-up to England in European qualifying Group 6 while Ecuador achieved a third-place finish in South American qualifying. (AP)
