Mizoram school enter U-17 Boys' final in Subroto Cup

Reverend Saiaithnaga Memorial, Aizawl, Mizoram edged out Government Model School, Chandigarh 6-4 via penalty shootout to enter the U-17 Boys' semifinal of the 54th Subroto Cup at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Sunday.
Both teams were locked at 2-2 after extra-time and the Mizoram boys held their nerves to win the penalty shootout 6-4 with Chandigarh botching up two of their attempts.
The match was an action-packed affair with both teams getting their fair share of chances.
Mizoram scored through Lalremivanga and Lalbiahkima while Indermohan and Harpal found the net for Chandigarh.
In the penalty shootout, Lalremivanga, Lalbiahkima, Lalnunsiama, Lalnunsanga, Lalauhawma and Lalchawisanga scored for Mizoram. Tehleel and Harsharan successfully converted their attempts for Chandigarh while Vikramand Mubashir fired their attempts wide. This was the first penalty shootout of the tournament.
In another match, Troeschina from Kiev, Ukraine, entered the U-17 Boys' quarterfinals with an easy 5-0 victory over Government Senior Secondary School, Fatehabad, Haryana.
The visitors, who are the hot favourites for the title, registered their third win on the trot. Haryana were no match for their superior rivals and most of the action was restricted to their half.
