Salt Lake City:

Major League Soccer career scoring leader Jason Kreis of Real Salt Lake was placed on the injured list on Wednesday with a torn ligament in his left knee. Kreis will now miss the rest of the season. The only player to score 100 goals in the league, Kreis has a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament, an injury sustained two years ago. The 32-year-old said he felt it was more important to be healthy for 2006 than finish out Real's first MLS season. Salt Lake trails Colorado by 12 points in the race for the fourth playoff spot in the Western Conference. (AP)
