After the success in the Nehru Cup on homeground, Bob Houghton's boys suffered a setback in Beirut on Monday night.

Hosts Lebanon thrashed India 4-1 in the away leg of the 1st round of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

The visitors took the field with a depleted bench as goalkeeper Sandip Nandy and forward Abhishek Yadav had to return home with injuries.

Sunil Chhetri scored the lone goal for India while Mohamad Ghaddar struck twice for the hosts in the 61st and 75th minute.

The Indian team had a prepared hard for the game with camps in Goa as well as in Dubai for over a fortnight before moving on to the Lebanese capital.

Lebanon is ranked 144th in the world, just a step ahead to the Indians who are placed at 145.
