The authentic FIFA World Cup trophy arrived at the football crazy city this afternoon by a chartered flight from Canada.

The six kg weight World Cup trophy, made of solid gold, would be kept at the Yuba Bharati Krirangtan for display from January 15 to 17.

FIFA, the supreme body for soccer in the world, as part of promoting the sport is taking the cup to 86 countries before World Cup to be held at South Africa in June this year.

The cup would be formally unveiled by skipper of the 1990 World Cup-winning German Lothar Mathhaus tomorrow at a city hotel.
