East Bengal's scheduled I-League round nine match against Chirag United has been postponed to January 8.

"The match between East Bengal vs Chirag United which was originally scheduled on at 5.30 pm in Yuba Bharati Krirangan tomorrow will now be played on January 8 at the same venue from 2.30 pm," IFA said in a statement on Wednesday.

Having returned on Monday after their Federation Cup triumph in Guwahati, East Bengal had requested to postpone the match by a day or two.

"Players did not get enough rest after playing continously till the final in Federation Cup. We requested the AIFF through IFA to change the schedule," East Bengal football secretary Santosh Bhattacharya said.
