Chealse beat Reading 1-0, lose two goalies

Ten-man Chelsea lost two goalkeepers to head injuries in a 1-0 win against 10-man Reading in the Premier League, forcing defender John Terry to finish the match in goal. Petr Cech was carried off on a stretcher soon after the game started when he was kneed in the head by Reading's Stephen Hunt on Saturday. Replacement goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini was taken off on a stretcher unconscious shortly before the game ended after a collision with Ibrahima Sonko. "The Cech one, the challenge is a disgrace. He is lucky to still be alive. As for Carlo, it's a bad challenge, but there was no intent from the player," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said. Mourinho said Cudicini was knocked out because of the way he hit the ground, but accused Hunt of laughing after Cech was injured. "It was unbelievable and players should respect each other more than that," Mourinho said. Chelsea had scored when a free kick by Frank Lampard was deflected for a goal by Reading defender Ivar Ingimarsson in the 45th minute. Chelsea played with 10 men from the 62nd minute when John Obi Mikel was sent off for a second yellow card. Reading finished the match a man down when Andre Bikey got a second caution in the 83rd.
