Milan:

AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano will reportedly have heart surgery on Friday.

The ANSA news agency says the procedure will be performed by Dr. Mario Carminati at the Maggiore hospital in Milan.

Milan announced on Wednesday that Cassano has a cardiac anomaly that caused a brain problem due to impaired blood flow.

Cassano has been hospitalized since Saturday, when he was taken for tests after falling ill on the team plane following the team's 3-2 victory over Roma.

The 29-year-old Cassano was reportedly joking with teammates on the plane before suddenly developing problems with his vision, speech and movement.

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has said Cassano could be out from four to six months.
