Portuguese football club Benfica have announced the transfer of their Brazilian striker Rodrigo Moreno to Spanish side Valencia for 30 million euros (around $33.7 million).
Benfica noted the transfer of the player's rights in a letter sent to the Portuguese stock exchange supervisor on Monday, reports Efe.
In January 2014, Benfica sold Rodrigo's economic rights for 30 million euros to the Meriton Capital Limited investment fund, owned by Singaporean tycoon Peter Lim, also the current owner of Valencia.
However, the player's federal rights did not pass until Monday to Valencia's possession, since the law allows clubs only to control these kinds of rights and not investment companies.
For his part, Rodrigo said: "After a year in Valencia I feel very happy and eager to be better every day. Now we have to think about the Champions League and get into the group stage. I've been fortunate to play in this competition with Benfica and now I want to do so with Valencia."
