Bayern extend contract of Mario Gomez

Bayern Munich said that they have extended the contract of striker Mario Gomez until 2016.

Bayern Munich said that they have extended the contract of striker Mario Gomez until 2016.

Gomez has scored 37 goals for Bayern this season, including 11 in the Champions League. The striker was rested in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Marseille that saw Bayern through to the semifinals.

Gomez says Bayern are "a great club where I feel very comfortable."

Bayern's sporting director Christian Nerlinger says Gomez has evolved into "one of the top strikers in Europe."
