Barcelona's Pique in doubt for Spanish Supercup

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has strained his right hamstring and is a doubt for the first leg of the Spanish Supercup against Real Madrid on Sunday, the club said.

The 24-year-old limped off the pitch clutching the back of his thigh near the end of the first half of Spain's 2-1 loss to Italy in a friendly on Wednesday in the southern Italian city of Bari.

"Pique has a strained hamstring in his right leg. The development of the injury will determine his availability on Sunday," Barcelona said in a Twitter message.

The second leg of the Spanish Supercup will be played at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium on August 17.
