New Delhi:

The Indian Under-20 football team went down 0-2 to Bangladesh U-23 in their last league encounter of the Grand Royal Challenge Cup in Yangon, Myanmar, to finish the tournament with three losses. The Indians, who took this tournament as preparation for the Asian U-20 qualifiers, gave a dismal show scoring one goal while letting in 16 in their three matches. They faced the humiliation of a 0-11 drubbing at the hands of the Myanmar U-23 side and though they improved over the next two games, they were well below the pace of the other teams in the tournament. Bangladesh is treating the competition as a warm-up for the South Asian football championship scheduled in Pakistan in December. Myanmar and China played out a goalless draw in the other match of the day. The hosts will take on Bangladesh in the final on November 2. (PTI)
