AIFF to felicitate Bhutia on 100th match

The AIFF said they will felicitate national captain Bhaichung Bhutia when he will become India's first player to play in 100 international matches.

The All India Football Federation on Saturday said they will felicitate national captain Bhaichung Bhutia on Sunday when he will become India's first player to play in 100 international matches.

Bhutia will lead India against Kyrgyzstan in a Nehru Cup match here on Sunday and the AIFF will honour the talismanic striker with a momento just before the start of the clash at the Ambedkar stadium.

"We will be felicitating Bhaichung for his achievement before on Sunday match. It is a remarkable feat achieved by any Indian footballer," out-going AIFF secretary Alberto Colaco said on Saturday.

The Sikimese footballer started his international career against Thailand in a Nehru Cup match in Kolkata in 1995 and has scored more than 50 goals for the country till date.
