The Bologna defender has been overlooked since Austria's 5-1 loss to Spain in November 2009 but is included in the 24-man squad announced on Tuesday by coach Marcel Koller.

Goalkeeper Christian Gratzei, Guido Burgstaller, Jakob Jantscher, Yasin Pehlivan and Jurgen Saeumel are also new to the squad, while 'keeper Pascal Gruenwald and defenders Sebastian Proedl and Franz Schiemer are missing with injuries.

Austria play Finland in Klagenfurt on Feb. 29. Both teams failed to qualify for the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
