London:
Pavel Pogrebnyak scored an early goal as Fulham beat 10-man Queens Park Rangers 1-0 in a tense London derby at Loftus Road on Saturday.
QPR, managed by former Fulham manager Mark Hughes, looked disorganized and its task was made harder in the 33rd minute when newcomer Samba Diakite was sent off for a second yellow card offence. It was the third home league match out of four that a QPR player has been ejected in the first half.
Hughes suggested Fulham lacked ambition following his departure last summer and was reminded of his comments by Fulham fans when Pogrebnyak rounded QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny to break the deadlock in the seventh minute.
QPR has now only won once in 14 league games.
