Chelsea says an English Premier League rival has bid for defender Alex, whose transfer request was accepted last month.
West London rival Queens Park Rangers is reported to be interested in signing the 29-year-old Alex with new manager Mark Hughes indicating his interest in the Brazilian.
On Thursday, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said "there has been an approach from a Premier League club. It is a player who we have accepted a transfer request for, so we have to listen to offers."
The other player Chelsea accepted a transfer request from, Nicolas Anelka, has joined Shanghai Shenhua in China.
Alex, who joined Chelsea in 2004, saw his opportunities limited following the arrival of compatriot David Luiz a year ago.
