London:
Arsenal defender Andre Santos is set to miss the next three months of the season because of an ankle injury, the Premier League club said on Monday.
The left-back suffered ligament damage in his right ankle during last week's Champions League loss away to Olympiakos and is now set to undergo am operation in his native Brazil later this week.
An Arsenal statement said: "Andre will have surgery in Brazil this week and is expected to be out for around three months.
"Everyone at the club wishes him well."
The 28-year-old joined the Gunners in August and has made 14 appearances, scoring in the 5-3 league victory at Chelsea and the 2-1 home win over Olympiakos.
