The 2011 World Cup has generated an average TV rating of 4.2 (only on ESPN STAR) and 4.9 (on the combined network of ESS and DD), compared to an average TV rating of 2.5 (Set Max) and 2.7 (Set Max + Doordarshan) in the Caribbean four years ago.
The summit clash of the just-concluded mega-event between India and Sri Lanka also registered a record viewership rating of 27.2 (ESS+DD) - the match rating 22.0 on ESS and 5.1 on DD.
The India-SL final saw a peak rating of 41.2 (ESS+DD) with a peak ratings of 32.9 only on ESS.
Apart from these, the nine India matches have delivered an average TV Rating of 13.0 on ESPN STAR Sports bouquet and an average TVR of 16.0 (ESS+DD).
The historic semi-final match between India and Pakistan on March 30 in Mohali rated 20.3 on ESS and 4.4 on DD.
The non-India matches, meanwhile, have delivered an average TVR of 1.8 with the first semi-final between New Zealand and Sri Lanka being the highest - 5.1 (only ESS) and 5.9 (ESS+DD).
The Pakistan-Sri Lanka encounter on February 26 was the second highest rated non-India match with an average rating of 4.6.
In terms of reach, the India-Sri Lanka final recorded the highest reach and was being watched by 120.5 mn or 61 per cent of total CS viewers.
The India-Pakistan semi-final was watched by 102.2 mn or 51 per cent of all CS viewers, making it the next highest watched match of the tournament.
