Solomon Mire | 45 | 33 | 3 | 2 | 136.36 |
b Jason Holder
48.5 OUT! Holder picks up his 4th wicket. Smart bowling by the captain. He has been darting it full and in an area which is difficult to put away. He bowls yet another yorker on the stumps, Mire tries to heave it but misses the ball completely. A well made 45 by him, but he would have loved to get to his half ton. Nevertheless, he has done what his team would have wanted from him. 284/8

Cephas Zhuwao | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Keemo Paul b Jason Holder
1.3 OUT! Captain has drawn first blood. Zhuwao has to go back to the hut without scoring. Third short ball of the over and Zhuwao cannot deal with it this time. Holder bowls a well-directed one, at the batsman's body. He goes for the pull but only manages to get his gloves to it. The ball lobs to the short fine leg region and Keemo Paul, there, dives in front to take a fine catch inches above the ground. Early blow for Zimbabwe as Zhuwao bags another failure. Not the start they were looking for after winning the toss and electing to bat. 2/1

Hamilton Masakadza | 7 | 16 | 1 | 0 | 43.75 |
c Shai Hope b Jason Holder
5.5 OUT! A peach to get Masakadza! How do you play those? Masakadza surely does not have an answer to that. Holder bowls it on a length around the off stump line. The ball first angles into the batsman and then it seams away after pitching. Masakadza goes for the drive but does not account for the away movement. The ball takes a faint edge and the keeper collects it with ease. Second for Holder and he is bowling brilliantly, leading from the front is the skipper. Zimbabwe in a spot of bother here. 28/2

Brendan Taylor Wk | 138 | 124 | 20 | 2 | 111.29 |
c Ashley Nurse b Kemar Roach
43.2 OUT! Roach gets the man who Windies wanted since a long time. Taylor goes back to the hut after a well-made 138. What a knock by this man! Hats off! A full delivery on the stumps, Taylor tries to repeat his last shot but only manages to sky it high. Nurse, at covers, does well to hold on to the swirling catch. He misjudged it for a bit but did well to keep his eyes on the ball. This wicket could make the difference to the final total. 246/6

|||||
Craig Ervine | 14 | 32 | 2 | 0 | 43.75 |
b Kemar Roach
19.3 OUT! Chopped on! Roach bowls a cross seam delivery this time. He lands it on a back of a length spot outside off stump from around the wicket and the ball keeps coming in with the angle. Ervine tries to guide it down to third man but the ball is too close to play that shot. He gets an inside edge which disturbs the furniture behind. A timely breakthrough provided by Roach as this partnership was looking dangerous. 79/3
|
|||||
Sean Williams | 34 | 31 | 4 | 0 | 109.67 |
c Ashley Nurse b Keemo Paul
30.3 OUT! Pin drop silence here in Harare! Keemo Paul gets the breakthrough, just what the Windies needed, just what Holder wanted. The change of bowling by him has worked wonders. A wicket completely against the run of play! A short ball on middle, from over the wicket. Williams like the last ball goes for the pull. He connects it well but fails to keep it down. He also does not get the desired elevation as he hits it straight to the man at mid-wicket. Nurse there takes a good catch as the ball was travelling. End of the 76-run stand and Williams walks back in disappointment as he could not covert the start he got. Nevertheless, the Windies are ecstatic and they would now look to build on this. 155/4
|
|||||
Sikandar Raza | 22 | 33 | 2 | 0 | 66.66 |
b Jason Holder
42.1 OUT! Holder gets his third wicket. A lucky breakthrough for the Windies. Smart bowling by the skipper. Raza tries to give himself some room but Holder follows him. He bowls it full on his legs, Raza tries to flick it but misses it. The balls hits his pads low and ricochets to the stumps. Well made 22 by Raza, but has to go back disappointed. 234/5
|
|||||
Graeme Cremer C | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c & b Kemar Roach
43.5 OUT! Zimbabwe are falling apart. Not what they would have wished for. Roach bangs it short towards the batsman, Cremer tries to fend it but gets a top edge which lobs back to the bowler who accepts it happily. Cremer goes back without scoring. Chisoro walks in next. 250/7
|
|||||
Tendai Chisoro | 18 | 22 | 1 | 0 | 81.81 |
c Ashley Nurse b Keemo Paul
49.5 OUT! Chisoro is the man walking back. A full delivery on the stumps, Chisoro heaves it towards the leg side. But only manages to sky it high towards the mid-wicket region. Nurse takes an easy catch stationed over there. 288/9
|
|||||
Kyle Jarvis | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 33.33 |
run out (Rovman Powell)
50 OUT! Zimbabwe are all out for 289 on the last ball. A full delivery, squeezed towards long off. There is no two available but they decide to go for it, understandably. Powell from long off throws it to the keeper who whips off the bails before Jarvis could make his way inside the crease. The third umpire confirms the same and that will be it. 289/10

c Kyle Jarvis b Blessing Muzarabani
5.5 OUT! Muzarabani draws first blood and it's a big wicket. Chris Gayle will have a long walk back to the pavilion. Short and wide outside off, Gayle tries to heave it across the line but gets a thick edge which flies to the third man region. Jarvis comes charging in from his position and accepts the catch gracefully. Zimbabwe are delighted, they certainly know the value of this wicket. The crowd has gone mad as well. 38/1

Evin Lewis | 64 | 75 | 7 | 1 | 85.33 |
c & b Sikandar Raza
21.2 OUT! It's that man again. Sikandar Raza. The golden-arm man. Clever change in pace by Raza. He bowled the first ball slower through the air but darts this one at 98 kph. Lewis tries flicking it on the leg side but fails to close the face of the bat in time. It pops out back to the bowler from the leading half of his bat and Raza accepts the return catch gleefully. Big, big blow to Windies. The set batsman is out of here. 180 more needed for a win. 110/2

Shai Hope Wk | 76 | 97 | 5 | 1 | 78.35 |
c Sikandar Raza b Sean Williams
44.4 OUT! Yes, it is a clean catch. Catches win matches, and maybe Raza is proving it right today. Tossed up delivery around off stump. Hope gets low and slog sweeps it. Raza dives in front and takes a blinder. Hope is dismissed just at the time when Windies wouldn't want him to. Is there a twist in the tale? 249/4

|||||
Marlon Samuels | 86 | 80 | 6 | 4 | 107.5 |
c Brendan Taylor b Blessing Muzarabani
43.5 OUT! Gone! Huge roar from the crowd as soon as the keeper catches the ball. Muzarabani bowls it with a scrambled seam outside off and Samuels tries playing it down to third man. He gets a thick outside edge behind and Taylor dives across to his right to take an excellent catch. A nicely compiled knock by Samuels comes to an end. His 135-run stand with Hope has certainly handed the upper hand to his team. 45 needed off 37 balls. Too little too late? Can Zimbabwe still count their Blessing? 245/3

|||||
Shimron Hetmyer | 13 | 7 | 0 | 1 | 185.71 |
st Brendan Taylor b Graeme Cremer
45.4 OUT! Ohhh, yes Cremer has picked another wicket here! Surely making amends. A sharp stumping done by Brendan as he too makes up for that dropped catch. The Zimbabwe skipper hurls in a lovely googly again, lands it around middle and it curls away after landing. Hetmyer kneels to nail his shot over the leg side but misses. In the process, his back leg is dragged out and Taylor is quick to remove the bails. He is very confident and the square leg umpire goes upstairs. The replays find Shimron short. Are West Indies bottling yet another chase? 25 needed off 26 balls. 265/6

|||||
Jason Holder C | 6 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 300 |
c Sikandar Raza b Graeme Cremer
45.2 OUT! Captain takes the revenge immediately by removing his opposite number. Jason gets carried away with the last shot. Once again attempts to clear the straight boundary but this time he has failed to generate enough power. Raza at long off grabs a good running catch. You cannot keep Sikandar out of the match. He is omnipresent. 27 needed off 28 balls. 263/5
