He predicted the India-England clash to end in a tie and India to win the semi final by 8 runs. Former Australian spinner Shane Warne has now tweeted predicting India to win the all important final match of the World Cup against Sri Lanka at Wankhede on Saturday.
The spin-legend who was compared to Paul the octopus of the FIFA World Cup for his predictions, tweeted his prediction for the match early on Saturday. "My prediction - very close contest and whoever bats first has a big advantage. India by 17 runs or 5 wkts !!!" was his message on the micro-blogging site.
Warne also wished Sachin Tendulkar luck and hoped that he completed his 100th century. "Also good luck to my friend Sachin in his quest to make a 100-100's in international cricket The script is written. Hope it's a great game."
Although Shane Warne was part of the Australian squad when it won the World Cup on the previous three occasions, he did not make any forecast on his own team as Ricky Ponting's side crashed out to India in the quarter final match at Ahmedabad. His final tweet on the outcome of the match between the two Asian giants however, remains to be verified as India and Sri Lanka get ready to play for the coveted trophy and title.
