Vinay Kumar to lead South Zone in Duleep Trophy
Abhinav Mukund, the Tamil Nadu opener, has been named as vice-captain of the team. While eight players from the 2012-13 squad, including Stuart Binny [representing Rajasthan Royals in the Champions League Twenty20] and KP Appanna, have missed out, three from Kerala - Sandeep Warrier, CP Shahid and Rohan Prem - have been included in this year's side.

R Vinay Kumar is set to lead the South Zone team in the Duleep Trophy Inter Zonal competition, scheduled to start on October 3 in Chennai. Seven Karnataka players were included in the 15-member squad.
Abhinav Mukund, the Tamil Nadu opener, has been named as vice-captain of the team. While eight players from the 2012-13 squad, including Stuart Binny [representing Rajasthan Royals in the Champions League Twenty20] and KP Appanna, have missed out, three from Kerala - Sandeep Warrier, CP Shahid and Rohan Prem - have been included in this year's side.
Warrier, the right-arm pacer, had played for India Under-23 in the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup in Singapore last month and was also drafted in to the India Red squad for the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy to replace the injured Irfan Pathan.
South Zone will play West Zone in the quarterfinal in Chennai, with the winner staying in the city to play a semifinal against Central Zone. The other semifinal, between East Zone and North Zone, will be played in Kochi, which will also host the final. East Zone won the competition in 2012-13.
