Amid little excitement among the fans for the three IPL matches to be held here, the Dalai Lama is expected to watch the encounter between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 17.
"The presence of Dalai Lama shall be an added attraction," Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president Anurag Thakur told PTI while confirming the invitation to the Tibetan spiritual leader.
Special secretary to the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Takla confirmed the receipt of the invitation but said that the spiritual leader's availability will be notified later. The Dalai Lama is expected to be back in the hill town on May 16, a day ahead of the match between KXIP and RCB .
Apart from the Dalai Lama, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and business magnet Mukesh Ambani, along with former Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, are also expected to be in the town for the matches.
The hosts Kings XI Punjab are scheduled to play Delhi Daredevils on May 15 followed by matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 18 and Deccan Chargers on May 21 respectively.
