Paarl Royals made SA20 history at Newlands on Sunday when they beat coastal rivals MI Cape Town for the first time at Newlands

The opening round of SA20 Season 4 matches has seen all the visiting teams dominate, not least at Boland Park on Saturday night.

SA20 League Commissioner Graeme Smith believes the league has helped the young guns perform at a high level when called up to the international stage.

The final player auction pool comprises 300 South African cricketers and 241 overseas players.

The Final of the competition will take place on 25 January, with Qualifier 1 scheduled for January 21, the Eliminator on January 22 and Qualifier 2 on January 23.

Each franchise will be able to make a total of 13 picks in the auction, which will be held in Cape Town.

West Indies all-rounder Fabian Allen was attacked and robbed at gunpoint outside the Paarl Royals team hotel in Johannesburg.
