Mumbai:

Team India were on their victory lap after winning the T20 World Cup, a 30-kilometre trip from Mumbai airport to Wankhede Stadium.

But they 'Boys in Blue' weren't the only winners. Triumphant as well, the bus was run by the Maharashtra tourism board.

Stripped of its star passengers, Nilambari, as she's called, is using her new branding as a USP to earn the government some extra bucks.

"There's a lot of excitement. We have given tourists a heritage tour," said Abhay Yawalkar, Joint MD, MTDC.

But its claim to fame didn't come without a twist in the road. Nilambari, which routinely conducted city tours - or Mumbai darshans for tourists - was quite a flop show.

Now, in her snobbish avtar, Nilambari will charge a princely sum of 90 per head for a seat on the upper deck.

"Team India's touch has turned this bus into a pot of gold and MTDC is cashing in on its popularity," said Ruhi Khan.

All this hype for a 60-minute- round trip of south Mumbai which includes the Gateway of India, Marine Drive, the Oval Maidan, Rajabai Tower, Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus and Flora Fountain before returning to the Gateway of India.

And if the tourism board is to believed, it's the queue for this baby that's a sight to behold.
