Sydney:

It seems that Cricket Australia (CA) have jumped the gun by including Andrew Symonds in the national squad for the two Tests against New Zealand as sports psychologist Phil Jauncey reveals that the all-rounder is still not mentally fit.

Jaucey who was Symonds' counsellor said not to expect the champion allrounder to be a saint overnight. Jauncey was on CA's rehabilitation panel, which was monitoring Symonds' performance.

"Don't expect him to be a saint, he has been dealing with some issues and problems and they may crop up again in the future. Roy (Symonds) has made great progress in the last few months but there are some fairly complex issues involved," Jauncey was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.

Jauncey also said that Symonds would find it a bit hard getting along with the teammates. Symonds was named in a 13-man Australian squad for next week's first Test against New Zealand at the Gabba.

"Any time you've been away from a side for a while there are issues," he said.
