# VVS Laxman has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the fifth time in Tests - his first against South Africa.

# Laxman has received two Man of the Match awards in a calendar year for the first time. In the Colombo (PSS) Test against Sri Lanka, he was adjudged the Man of the Match for registering 56 & an unbeaten 103.

# Laxman has averaged 54.53 for winning cause - 3163 runs in 66 innings (44 Tests), including six hundreds and 22 fifties.

# India's convincing triumph by 87 runs at Durban is their fourth under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy on foreign soil - one each against New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

# Dhoni has become the first captain to register a winning % of 60.00 as captain.

# Overall, India have won 14, lost three and drawn six out of 23 contested under Dhoni's captaincy - success % 60.86.

# India have registered their second win against South Africa in South Africa.  In the 2006-07 Johannesburg Test, India had won by 123 runs.

# India's aforesaid win is their seventh (lost twelve and drawn seven) out of 26 played against South Afria - winning % 26.92.

# India have won eight, lost three and drawn three out of 14 played in 2010 - winning % 57.14.

# India's tally of eight victories in 2010 is exceeded only by England - 9 wins, three losses and two drawn - out of 14 played - success % 64.28

# South Africa have now lost three consecutive Tests at Kingsmead, Durban - to Australia by 175 runs in March 2009, to England by an innings and 98 runs in December 2009 and to India by 87 runs in December 2010.    

# Sreesanth (3/45) has recorded his best performance in seven Tests this year, bettering the 3 for 121 against New Zealand at Hyderabad last month.
