# VVS Laxman has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the fifth time in Tests - his first against South Africa.
 
# Laxman has received two Man of the Match awards in a calendar year for the first time. In the Colombo (PSS) Test against Sri Lanka, he was adjudged the Man of the Match for registering 56 & an unbeaten 103.
 
# Laxman has averaged 54.53 for winning cause - 3163 runs in 66 innings (44 Tests), including six hundreds and 22 fifties.
 
# India's convincing triumph by 87 runs at Durban is their fourth under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy on foreign soil - one each against New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
 
# Dhoni has become the first captain to register a winning % of 60.00 as captain.
 
# Overall, India have won 14, lost three and drawn six out of 23 contested under Dhoni's captaincy - success % 60.86.
