Johannesburg:
It is fast food cricket - junk for some, but staple diet for others. It has got plenty of entertainment. It might be a bowler's nightmare, but it has filled up cricket stadiums around the world and the fans love it.
The question though is whether India can win this world cup.
"Of course, Zaheer (Khan) is not here, but still we have the firepower that we need over here, and of course, the new guys who come from India, they will add on from it," said M S Dhoni, Captain, Indian Twenty20 Team.
There are many 20-20 specialists but the likes of Adam Gilchrist will certainly be a hit because it's not just slogging that counts.
The shots that work for the fans are the ones that reduce the bowlers to tears. No wonder then that Shaun Pollock thinks that many bowlers will need therapy for depression after this world cup.
New rules
Each bowler can bowl a maximum of four overs. There are fielding restrictions for six overs with two fielders outside the circle.
A no-ball is worth two runs and each no-ball is followed by a free hit. The fielding team has 80 minutes to go through their innings.
Batsmen get timed out unless they arrive at the crease within 90 seconds of a wicket. A bowl out will decide a match if there is a tied game.
New rules, new game but will it be the same winner. Australia are the overwhelming favourites to win this world cup as well.
They've made 221 in a game this year but they have also been bowled out 79 by England. So don't be surprised if there's a new world champion at the end of these two weeks.
