Johannesburg:
"He's had a great career, a thorough gentleman. He's been great these 12 years and it's been a honour to play alongside him," said Herschelle Gibbs, Member, South African Cricket Team.
Brendon Parchment was one-day wicket number 393 for Shaun Pollock and also his final ODI scalp in a career that has spanned over 12 years.
He ran down to the crease one last time, managing to finish in the way he's played most of his cricket with a smile. And when the last ball had been bowled and the last runs scored, Polly knew just who deserved the credit in a career that's yielded 828 international wickets and 7376 runs off his willow.
"Thanks to the team and it's been great to play with you'll. Thanks so much for everything. I'll be watching with interest, so if you guys start to muck up, I'll send you some SMS-es, so concentrate," said Shaun Pollock.
Pollock, the batsman, the bowler and most importantly the human being will be missed in international cricket and is sure to be remembered for the success he enjoyed as much as the spirit he played it in.
