lbw b Mohammed Siraj
1.5 OUT! PLUMB! Mohammed Siraj draws first blood and he gets his man! After an expensive start, this has been a great comeback from the fast bowler. Bowls this on a good length and just outside the off pole, and gets the ball to nip back in sharply. Anamul Haque does not get his bat down in time and gets hit flush on the pads. There is a huge appeal from the Indian players and the umpire raises his finger. Anamul Haque decides to review this and UltraEdge shows the ball is far from the bat. Ball Tracking shows three reds and Bangladesh have lost their first wicket. 11/1

Litton Das C | 7 | 23 | 1 | 0 | 30.43 |
b Mohammed Siraj
9.2 OUT! CLEANED UP! Right through the gate! Mohammed Siraj goes full and angles this one into middle stump. The ball has some good pace on it and Litton Das ends up playing down the wrong line. This one skids in from off stump and Das looks to drive it straight back. The ball goes in between bat and pad and crashes into the middle stump. A big wicket this for India and Siraj has his second as well. 39/2

Najmul Hossain Shanto | 21 | 35 | 3 | 0 | 60 |
b Umran Malik
13.1 OUT! TIMBER! Umran Malik is looking absolutely lethal since he has come on and he has castled Najmul Hossain Shanto! Comes 'round the wicket and bowls this on a good length, pitching the ball on an off stump line. Najmul Hossain Shanto is sitting deep in the crease probably worried about the pace and looks to defend the line of the ball but it straightens a touch off the wicket. He gets beaten on the outside edge the off pole is pegged back. Bangladesh lose their third wicket and Umran Malik is making quite an impact. 52/3

|||||
Shakib Al Hasan | 8 | 20 | 1 | 0 | 40 |
c Shikhar Dhawan b Washington Sundar
17 OUT! CAUGHT! Almost a collision there but it is safely taken in the end. Washington Sundar comes from around the wicket and floats it up around middle stump. Shakib Al Hasan looks to break the shackles as he goes for the slog-sweep against the turn. He ends up getting a top edge on it and the ball loops up around the leg gully region. Shikhar Dhawan from first slip runs towards it and Mohammed Siraj also comes in from short fine leg. It is Dhawan though who claims it but the ball goes through his hands and he clings onto it with his legs. He smiles and gives his trademark thigh-slap in celebration. Bangladesh lose their fourth wicket and have dug themselves into a hole here. 66/4

Mushfiqur Rahim Wk | 12 | 24 | 2 | 0 | 50 |
c Shikhar Dhawan b Washington Sundar
18.5 OUT! TAKEN! Washington Sundar picks up his second wicket now and Bangladesh are in a spot of real bother here. This is tossed up on a length and on off stump with the ball turning in. Mushfiqur Rahim presses forward looking to block but the ball seems to have come off the inside edge and looped up. The ball goes to the left of the man at leg slip and Shikhar Dhawan takes a nice catching diving to that side. There is an appeal for a catch from the Indian players but it is turned down. KL Rahul, the stand-in captain has opted for the review right away. UltraEdge shows that the ball clearly took a glove on its way and the catch is a clean one as well. 69/5
|
|||||
Mahmudullah | 77 | 96 | 7 | 0 | 80.20 |
c KL Rahul b Umran Malik
46.1 OUT! TAKEN! A brilliant catch from KL Rahul behind the stumps and India do get the breakthrough. Umran Malik speeds in and serves a shortish delivery, at a good pace and just outside the off stump. Mahmudullah backs away as he looks to loft it off the back foot and over extra cover, Mahmudullah is beaten for pace and the ball takes the outside edge. Rahul flies to his right and grabs it with one hand. Malik gets his second wicket and an excellent knock from Mahmudullah comes to an end. 217/7

Afif Hossain | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Washington Sundar
19 OUT! TIMBER! Washington Sundar with a ripper of a delivery and he picks up his third wicket. Sundar comes from 'round the wicket to the left-hander and serves an arm-ball first up. Afif Hossain rocks back and tries to make a bit of room to cut but it is just too close for comfort. The ball skids on quickly from around the off stump and beats the bat, knocking the off stump in the process as well. Afif departs for a golden duck and Sundar will be on a hat-trick when he comes on to bowl again. 69/6

1.5 OUT! CHOPPED ON! Ebadot Hossain goes wild in celebration and so does the crowd! Bangladesh have drawn first blood and it is the big wicket of Virat Kohli! Ebadot Hossain bowls this short and outside the off stump, Virat Kohli goes to pull this but gets an inside edge that shatters the stumps. The batter looks distraught but he will have to make the long walk back to the shed. Bangladesh have gotten off to a dream start and will be looking to press their advantage further. 7/1

Shikhar Dhawan | 8 | 10 | 1 | 0 | 80 |
c Mehidy Hasan b Mustafizur Rahman
2.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Bangladesh are right on top of India here and the crowd is ecstatic! India lose their second opener and Shikhar Dhawan did not look comfortable at the wicket at any point in time. Mustafizur Rahman bowls this back of a length and just outside off, Shikhar Dhawan is surprised by the extra bounce off the wicket and ends up fending the ball into the hands of the point fielder. Mehidy Hasan takes a easy catch running forward and India have lost their second wicket. 13/2

|||||
Shreyas Iyer | 82 | 102 | 6 | 3 | 80.39 |
c Afif Hossain b Mehidy Hasan
35 OUT! CAUGHT! BIG, BIG WICKET for Bangladesh! This partnership was reaching dangerous proportions and the man of the moment Mehidy Hasan, gets the breakthrough! He flights this one full and outside off, Shreyas Iyer looks to be aggressive and goes after the bowling once again. He charges down the wicket and hits this high towards mid-wicket. He does not connect this one cleanly and therefore gets the height but not the distance. Afif Hossain judges the catch beautifully and takes it well. Shreyas Iyer looks disappointed and India needed him to take them over the finish line. Half the side back in the shed. 172/5

Washington Sundar | 11 | 19 | 1 | 0 | 57.89 |
c Litton Das b Shakib Al Hasan
10 OUT! CAUGHT! Straight to the man and Shakib Al Hasan starts in his very first over. Shakib tosses this one up on a length and on off stump. Washington Sundar leans forward and just plays an on drive. Sundar pushes at it with hard hands and ends up chipping it straight towards short mid-wicket. The skipper, Litton Das takes a sharp catch over there and India lose their third wicket inside the first 10 overs. 39/3

|||||
KL Rahul Wk | 14 | 28 | 0 | 0 | 50 |
lbw b Mehidy Hasan
18.3 OUT! LBW! KL Rahul tries to be cheeky but ends up paying the ultimate price. Mehidy Hasan is just on a roll in this series and there seems to be nothing he can't do. This is bowled quicker and on a good length, turning it into middle stump. Rahul shuffles across a bit and looks to paddle it fine. The ball keeps a shade low and skids through as well, pinging Rahul right in the line of the stumps. As soon as the Bangladeshi players go up for the appeal, the finger is raised and Rahul just walks back to the pavilion. 65/4

|||||
Axar Patel | 56 | 56 | 2 | 3 | 100 |
c Shakib Al Hasan b Ebadot Hossain
38.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The bowling change has worked wonders and Ebadot Hossain might have sealed the game for Bangladesh here. This is dug in a bit short and around off stump. Axar Patel comes down the track and tries to force this one over extra cover. The ball hits high on the bat and just pops up around the cover region. Shakib Al Hasan, who bowled a maiden in the last over and maybe forced Axar into taking a bit more risk is the man who takes the catch as well. End of a fighting knock from Axar and India lose their sixth. 189/6
|
|||||
Shardul Thakur | 7 | 23 | 0 | 0 | 30.43 |
st Mushfiqur Rahim b Shakib Al Hasan
42.4 OUT! STUMPED! Shakib Al Hasan strikes and he makes it look so easy! Floats in a tempter full and outside off, Shardul Thakur tries to use his feet once again but gets beaten all ends up as he looks to clip this the leg side. The ball turns sharply and beats his outside edge. Shardul Thakur is far down the wicket and Mushfiqur Rahim has the easiest of stumpings. India lose their seventh wicket and are staring down the barrel of defeat. 207/7

49 OUT! TIMBER! Mahmudullah knocks Mohammed Siraj over but it hardly matters at this point. Siraj had a free hit on this ball as Rohit Sharma needed to be on strike the next over but as in the previous over, he just cannot get bat to ball. This is speared in on middle stump, Siraj hangs deep and throws the kitchen sink at it. The ball skids through and castles into the stumps. 20 needed now off 6 deliveries. 252/9
