Sachin Tendulkar to receive Sports Journalist Association of Mumbai's special award
Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to score 100 tons in international cricket after notching up his 49th in ODI hundred, against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup in March 2012.

Sachin Tendulkar will be feted by the Sports Journalists' Association of Mumbai on Sunday for his remarkable feat of notching up 100 international centuries. The felicitation will take place during the association's annual awards function at the Cricket Club of India.
Tendulkar, who became the first player to score 100 tons in international cricket after notching up a century, his 49th in One-day Internationals, against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup in March, 2012, would be given a special award to salute the feat, said a press release from SJAM.
The 40-year-old's Ranji team-mate Abhishek Nayar will receive the cricketer of the season award for his brilliant all round performance that made him the second highest run scorer aggregating 966 runs in the championship and also paved the way for Mumbai's 40th title triumph.
The Ranji Trophy winning squad would also be honoured on the occasion.
Arman Jaffer, who cracked 473 in the Harris Shield inter-schools finals, has been named the junior cricketer of the year, while Indian women's team opener Punam Raut has been named as the female cricketer of the year.
Besides the cricketers, ace cueist Aditya Mehta, the reigning Asian snooker champion, is to be conferred with the best sportsman award. The 27-year old, who plays as a professional in the world curcuit, recently won the gold medal in the World Games in Cali, Columbia.
Shooter Rahi Sarnobat will be given the Best Sportswoman award for winning the 25m sports pistol gold medal in the ISSF World Cup in Changwon, Korea, where she brushed aside the challenge from London Olympic Games gold medallist Kim Jangmi of Korea.
Hockey talent hunter Merzban 'Bawa' Patel would be given the lifetime achievement award.
Indian Oil, D Y Patil Sports Academy, Shivaji Park Youngsters and Percept Sports and Entertainment have supported the awards function in which former badminton ace Nandu Natekar is to be the chief guest.
'Jagar Maharashtracha', a compendium in Marathi reflecting the sports scenario in the state by 33 writers, would also be released during the awards function.
