But he keeps his bat hanging out there needlessly and the ball catches the inside half before destroying the stumps. Anrich becomes rich by one more wicket in Tests and South Africa will be relieved to see Ollie's back. Buttler tries to dominate the bowler by giving him the charge. It's a shortish length delivery outside off at 125 kph, Jos shimmies down the track to muscle it across the line but gets a thick top edge. It flies in the air at covers where Elgar runs back, keeps his eyes on the ball and pouches the skier safely. A delivery which has been served on a fuller length outside off. Curran flashes his bat at it but only manages to edge a 145 kph ball. One thing was again missing - Footwork! A healthy edge is gobbled by Quinton de Kock and this is now Nortje's best effort in Test cricket. Take a bow, young man! What a spell! This will truly be the stepping stone of his Test career. Woakes is fine on the no ball front. The Ball Tracker then comes in and it shows that it is umpire's call on hitting the stumps. Review retained but they lose their skipper. 25.1 OUT! Played on! The change in bowling has done the trick for the Proteas and Denly joins Zak Crawley in the pavilion. Paterson bowls it full just around off. It nips in a bit. Denly looks to defend but leaves a good amount of gap between the bat and pad. The ball takes the inside edge, hits his pad and then goes onto uproot the off pole. Big wicket for South Africa as Denly has been one of the best batters in this English lineup.  75/2

Full ball around off, Root looks to whack it on the off side but gets a thick outside edge which flies to the right of gully. South African skipper, Faf du Plessis decides to show his flying skills and channel his inner Superman. He dives to his right, actually if you see it in real time, you will see him fly like Superman just without the cape and take a blinder with his right hand. People can talk about his age and poor run of form with the bat but boy this man fields like a 20-year old. Just as we said the openers cannot lose their concentration, Malan loses his focus, maybe the break in play brought about his downfall. Woakes is the man who has drawn first blood here. Full and wide outside off, Malan goes chasing after it like a kid chasing candy. He ends up getting a thick outside edge which goes to the right of Ben Stokes. You cannot keep him out of the game and he takes a good catch. Catching practice at slip for Big Ben. The steady opening stand has been taken down.  39/1

27.5 OUT! Caught! The budding stand has been broken and it is Ben Stokes who is once again in the thick of action. A very good ball this from the English all-rounder. He bends his back and bowls a very good short ball. The speed gun shows it is bowled at 136 kph but in real-time it looked quick. It is very close to Elgar's body and the ball skids off the surface. Elgar is hurried onto the pull and all he can do it lob it back to Stokes who takes an easy catch. Just when it looks like South Africa are onto something England put a brakes on it and dampen all the hopes. The pitch is hardly doing anything but Stokes once again shows why he is held in high regards and produces something special.  89/2

59.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The nervous 90s bug has bitten Rassie van der Dussen as he takes a long walk back to the dressing room. He looks dejected. Rassie was expecting some chin music there with the field spread out. However, Wood surprises him with a full ball on off. Seeing the length, van der Dussen's eyes lit up and he goes for the expansive cover drive. He does not time it perfectly and it goes a touch uppishly to the right of Stuart Broad who tumbles low in that direction to take a good catch. Wood deserves this wicket more than anyone as he has been bowling well all day. Van der Dussen misses his ton by two runs and England get two wickets in two overs.  187/4

58.1 OUT! CHOPPED ON! Faf du Plessis departs after a fighting knock but for England, Ben Stokes is the man yet again! Stokes bowls a length ball just around off, it pitches and nips back in a bit. It also hits the crack and that makes the ball stay low. Faf du Plessis looks to come forward and defend but the ball goes off the bottom edge, onto the turf and then onto the middle pole to dislodge the bails. The skipper departs and a huge, huge blow for the Proteas!  181/3

Back of a length ball on middle and off, Quinton de Kock looks to pull but he only manages to get a top edge on this one. The ball goes up in the air towards mid off where Chris Woakes runs across and takes the catch. De Kock throws his wicket away and England heading to a comfortable victory.  267/8

68 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Bavuma has to depart and that is a cracking nut by Broad! Broad bowls a bouncer on middle and off, Bavuma hops and first thinks about playing at it but then realises that it is too high. He tries to drop his hands but by then the ball goes off his gloves and into the mitts of Buttler who takes an easy catch. Broad gets his first wicket of the Test match and he has shown his class against the youngster. Half the side back in the hut for South Africa.  235/5

69.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Stuart Broad is a tall man and it is very difficult hooking him and Pretorius departs in that very attempt! Bouncer on middle and leg, Pretorius goes back and looks to pull but gets a top edge on that one. It goes towards backward square leg where Sam Curran runs in and takes a very good catch diving forward. England 4 wickets away from the win.  239/6

73.2 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Philander departs and the whole crowd stands up and applauds the great man. He raises his bat as he accepts the applause and walks down the tunnel being a proud man having given his all for the nation. Back of a length ball down the leg side, Philander looks to tickle it fine down the leg side but he gets a faint edge on that and Buttler does well as he dives low to his left and takes the catch. The England players appeal and the umpire raises his dreaded finger. England 3 wickets away from the victory.  260/7

77.1 OUT! CAUGHT! ENGLAND HAVE WON THE MATCH! Nortje is the last man to depart. Wood takes the final one. Not the best of the balls but England and Root will take it. Wood bowls one down the leg side. Nortje looks to go for a fine tickle but fails to do so as it goes to Buttler. The England players immediately go up in appeal but the umpire is unmoved. Root immediately signals the 'T' and the replays roll in. Ultra Edge shows that there was a spike as the ball went past Nortje's glove. The umpire reverses his decision and that will be all. 77 OUT! RUN OUT! Disaster strikes and that is a shambles as Hendricks departs now. Full ball on middle and leg, Nortje plays this one down to mid on and sets off for a run. Hendricks does not have eyes for his partner and is ball-watching. Nortje has reached the non-striker end and Hendricks is at the same end as well. Hendricks runs towards the striker's end but Sibley at mid on collects the ball and has the presence of mind to throw the ball at the striker's end. Buttler collects the ball and whips the bails off with Hendricks well short. England just a wicket away from victory!  273/9
