Durban:

South Africa's Sports Minister Makhenkesi Stofile has appointed two lawyers to mediate in the dispute between the Cricket South Africa and one of its affiliates, Gauteng Cricket Board.

Stofile made the announcement on Wednesday after holding talks with CSA and the GCB representatives in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

The two lawyers were Brian Curren and Khaba Mambo.

Stofile intervened into the issue after the CSA convened an urgent meeting of its Board of Directors on Thursday in an attempt to resolve the dispute with the GCB.

The impasse also follows CSA's recent decision to strip the Wanderers Cricket stadium in Johannesburg, which the GCB controls, of all international matches until latter apologises for its criticism of the Indian Premier League's organisation earlier this year.

The GCB was especially critical of CSA CEO Gerald Majola and IPL chief Lalit Modi, whom they accused of mismanagement during the cash-awash event.
