Incisive spells from Pawan Suyal, the left-arm medium pacer, and Sumit Narwal, the experienced paceman, reduced Odisha to 229 for six in their second innings after Delhi took a 188-run first innings lead in their Group B clash. With Odisha only 41 runs ahead at this stage with four wickets left, Delhi would back themselves to take away full points from the game.
In Group A, Punjab entered a strong position against Bengal, picking up one second innings wicket after taking a 253-run first innings lead, having declared on 579 for seven following big knocks from Jiwanjot Singh (158), Mayank Sidhana (115) and Uday Kaul (165 not out). Elsewhere, Mumbai look good to take a first innings lead over Rajasthan, the defending champions, reaching 360 for three in reply to Rajasthan's 478. Hiken Shah was unbeaten on 118, while there were big contributions from Kaustubh Pawar (53), Aditya Tare (80) and Rohit Sharma (79).
