England and Delhi Daredevils batsman Kevin Pietersen laid down an emotional tribute to Yuvraj Singh who returned to India on Monday after several months of treatment for a rare germ cell cancer.
Yuvraj and Pietersen, whose relationship began with a fierce battle on the field and a war of words that followed, now enjoy a healthy relationship of mutual respect.
"When you see a fellow professional go through tough times, you should do anything you can. Yuvi is a fighter and I hope to see him fighting for India very soon", said Pietersen at an event.
Other members of the Delhi Daredevils team also lauded the spirit and courage of the southpaw.
"I am very happy for Yuvi. He is back and that's what we all prayed for. In two-three days time I will personally go and see him. Hope, he will be back on the field very soon", said Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag.
Sehwag had earlier said that he would miss Yuvraj the most in the fifth edition of the IPL.
Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardena also expressed his confidence in Yuvraj's ability to make a comeback.
