Lahore:
PCB today announced that apart from Bari, the panel would also include governing council member Wazir Ali Khojra, former team manager Yawar Saeed, director of international affairs Zakir Khan, legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi, and former Test player Haroon Rasheed.
"Pakistan Cricket Board has formed an inquiry committee to evaluate the national team's performance on the tour of Australia. The Committee will look into the various aspects of the team performance and make recommendations accordingly," the PCB said in a statement.
The decision to form the committee follows Pakistan's whitewash in both the Test and one-day series with the board facing more embarrassment with stand-in skipper Shahid Afridi inviting a ban for two Twenty20 matches for admitting to ball-tampering charges.
"We will be calling each player and official individually during the inquiry," Rizvi later said.
He said the committee would be totally fair and unbiased in finding out the reasons for the poor performances and recommend steps to halt the team's slide.
Meanwhile, former players have already questioned the committee, pointing out that members like Bari, Saeed and Zakir Khan themselves were under scrutiny for their performances in the board.
"How can you have Bari or Zakir on the committee when they are part of the board which is to blame for the chaos in Pakistan cricket and the bad performances of the team?" former captain Moin Khan said.
Another former player Abdul Qadir pointed out that Yawar was forced to step down as manager after the Champions Trophy last year because the then captain Younus Khan had expressed total no-confidence in him and accused him of encouraging formation of groups in the team.
