76 OUT! TIMBER! Pakistan have an early breakthrough on Day 2 and the skipper of England has to depart! A slower ball does the trick for Naseem Shah. He bowls it on a good length and on middle, looks like an off-cutter. Ben Stokes looks to make room towards the leg side and cut the ball away but gets beaten by the pace. The ball pegs the middle stump back and Stokes walks out for 41 in just 18 balls. Naseem Shah looks pumped as he celebrates and gives the batter a send-off. It is short and wide outside off. Abdullah Shafique looks to cut but he tries to play it really late. It goes off the outside edge and it is taken by the keeper. Pope just about takes it. He lofts it down the ground but hits it quite flat. It goes towards long on where it is taken by Ollie Robinson! Pakistan still a long way away, England will sense an opening here. 80.5 THE FINGER IS RAISED! Azhar Ali has been given out LBW but he reviews. Seems no bat but is it going down leg or is it clipping the leg pole? OUT! Leach bowls it quicker and slightly shorter on middle, Azhar Ali goes back to flick but since, the ball is new, it skids through. Ali is late in getting his bat down and is hit on the pads. This lands on off and then goes on with the angle. Agha Salman stays back and looks to defend but this goes off the outside edge and Root at first slip takes a sharp catch. The long resistance of Zahid Mahmood comes to an end! He tries to innovate. Brings out the reverse sweep but this is fired outside off. He misses. Pope whips the bails off and appeals. There is a spike on Ultra Edge as it passes the glove and the on-field call has to be overturned! Not sure why Crawley was rubbing his shoulder as that was nowhere near the shoulder. He falls shortly after getting to his half ton. Down the leg side, short. Crawley looks to pull, this seems to have taken the glove and Rizwan takes it. Maybe he could have played his way to his ton but that shot just shows, it is team first for him. On middle, he looks to heave it across the line but misses it altogether. The stumps are shattered. Stokes looks to hit it through covers. The length and line was not the right one to play that shot. 4.1 OUT! TAKEN! Abdullah Shafique holes out! The plan to bowl short has worked. Early wicket for England. Just what they needed! This is banged in short and on middle, Abdullah Shafique can't hold back, he goes for the pull, fails to get on top of the bounce and it goes off the top edge towards deep square leg. Harry Brook at deep square leg takes it nicely.  20/1

25.3 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Imam-ul-Haq goes and England have found the breakthrough. The 64-run stand is broken. Imam could have left this alone. James Anderson slants a length ball, going down the leg side. Imam tries to flick it but gets a faint edge to Ollie Pope who dives to his right and takes a fine catch. First, it looked like it came off the pads but Imam-ul-Haq showed his back immediately and started walking off. He goes for fine 48.  89/3

82.1 OUT! TAKEN! Straight to the leg slip fielder! Ollie Robinson is on fire, he has two in two overs and England can sense a win now. The last recognized batter, Azhar Ali is out of here and England are just the three wickets away. This is on the pads, Ali flicks but to the man at leg slip. Root takes an excellent low catch. Yet again the reverse swing doing the job, the ploy not to take the second new ball is working. This is going to be really tough for the bowling all-rounders now.  260/7

5.3 OUT! TAKEN! The finger is raised! Pin-drop silence in this stadium as Babar Azam has been dismissed by the England skiper, Ben Stokes. The short ball ploy works yet again. England well and truly on top now! This is short and on middle, Babar Azam looks to guide it down to third man. There is not enough room to do that. He actually tried making a little bit of room by moving to his the right. This goes off the toe-end and it is taken inches above the ground by the keeper. 61.2 OUT! TAKEN! That is a lovely catch! Ollie Robinson comes on and strikes. Stokes can do no wrong with his bowling changes here and England now on top. They are just the one wicket away from entering the bowlers now. Saud Shakeel who looked solid out there falls. England are delighted. This is fuller and outside off, quite wide outside off. Shakeel could have left it but it is the length that makes him play the stroke. It is just behind a driving length. Shakeel stretches for it, it goes uppishly and to the right of a very short cover. 55.1 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Anderson gets another one! This guy is an absolute legend, irrespective on the conditions, just manages to find the breakthroughs for his side. It is the big wicket of Mohammad Rizwan who just did not look like getting out. He falls four short of a half ton and England now back on top. This is on a length, it lands and moves away. Rizwan has a poke at it away from the body. He also plays it with an angled bat. It goes off the outside edge and it goes into the hands of the keeper. He maybe could have left that delivery but that is how Rizwan plays, he likes feeling bat on ball and that proves to be his downfall.  176/4

This one is on a length and outside off, it lands and nips back in sharply. Salman stays back and tries to dab to third man with an angled bat but puts his front foot across.
