Chennai:
New Zealand all-rounder Nathan McCullum left hospital on Saturday after a bout of fever and rejoined the World Cup squad.
McCullum was rushed to hospital on Thursday after running a temperature and was subsequently kept in under observation.
"Nathan was discharged from hospital this morning and joined us for a light session during the day," New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori told a news conference.
"He is confident that he can take part in tomorrow's match. However, I do not want to take a risk with him since he is required for the full tournament."
Vettori said his bowling selection would be decided according to offspinner McCullum's precise fitness before the team's opening game in Group A in Chennai on Sunday.
