Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Highlights, WPL 2025:Â Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended an otherwise disappointing season on a positive note, denying Mumbai Indians a direct entry into the final of the WPL 2025 with an 11-run win. The result helped table toppers Delhi Capitals secure a direct berth in the final of the competition, which will be held here on March 15, while MI will take on Gujarat Giants in the eliminator on March 13 at the same venue. DC have now entered the summit clash for the third consecutive time and would hope that coveted title doesn't elude them. Batting first, RCB rode on skipper Smriti Mandhana's 37-ball 53 and useful contributions from Ellyse Perry (49 off 38 balls), Richa Ghosh (36 off 22) and Georgia Wareham (31 off 10) to post a commanding 199 for three. In reply, MI were stopped at 188 for nine. Both MI and DC finished the league engagements with five wins each, but the latter had better net run rate. Sajeevan Sajana raised MI hopes with a 12-ball 23 before perishing to Perry. (SCORECARD)

Mumbai knew they have to bring out their A game to get over the victory line. Reminder they were playing back to back games in 24 hours so it wasn't going to be easy for them. It came down once again on Natalie Sciver-Brunt amd Harmanpreet Kaur to get the score board ticking. The skipper fell but Natalie Sciver-Brunt got some noise back in the stadium by scoring a fifty. She fell at the wrong time and after that, the victory was hard to grab by. Sajana played a late cameo but it needed something special to score four sixes in a row.
It was some sort of a complete performance from Bengaluru. They had nothing but to play for pride and they were superb in all three departments. They were asked to bat first and the openers set the tone right from the start. Sabbhineni Meghana played a small little cameo but Smriti Mandhana finally notched some runs with the bat after a long while. A fifty from her along with Perry's excellent knock in the middle phase set the tone for a big finish. Ghosh and Georgia Wareham went berserk in the fag end to take the score close to 200.
Well, it got closer than we thought! The defending champions bow out of the tournament with a win. A win after five games! Mumbai on the other hand had the chance to play the finals but a loss here means they will play the Eliminator against Gujarat.
Fuller ball on middle. Parunika Sisodia pushes it to mid off. Bengaluru win by 11 runs.
OUT! GONE! Game over then. Shorter and on leg! Sajana looks to work on the leg side but top edges it to short fine leg where Sabbhineni Meghana holds onto it.
DOT! Perry brings out the slower delivery, length and outside off. Sajana slashes her blade and misses.
SIX! When was the last time you saw Perry under pressure? A good length ball outside off, nothing wrong with the delivery but Sajana once again hangs back and whacks it over mid-wicket for a six. 12 needed now.
SIX! Hang on, Folks! Very full and on middle, already two bumpers so Sajana anticipated a fuller delivery, thumps this down to long off for a biggie.
Wide! A bumper on middle and leg. Sajana makes room to ramp it over but misses.
Wide! Perry looks under pressure. Shorter and going down leg. Perry looks to pull but misses. Bengaluru review for the wide but the replay shows it is easily going down.
A good length ball on middle. Sajana whips it to long on, to her right and comes back for the second.
FOUR! So all to play for in the last over. Fuller delivery outside off. Ismail drives it through extra cover for a boundary. 28 runs needed of the last over.
Wide! Slower one down leg. Ismail misses her flick.
OUT! GONE! Just not enough. Garth serves in the slot full and on off. Gupta skips down and heaves. At first it felt like it will clear the fence but Joshitha V J close to the ropes at deep mid-wicket holds her nerves.
