Stoinis, an Australian all-rounder featuring for Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers in Australia's domestic circuit, slammed six sixes in an over against Brendan Smith of the National Indigenous Squad.
Smith conceded 37 runs in that over as his first delivery was declared a wide. Stoinis tore into the medium pacer and carted the next six balls out of the park. The feat took place in a a non-sanctioned practice match at the Allan Border Field. (Michael Clarke to be a Dad)
The rare feat has been achieved before by just four players with Sir Gary Sobers smashing Glamorgan's Malcolm Nash for half-a-dozen sixes in an over in 1968. Seventeen years later, former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri repeated the act by against Tilak Raj in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda.
Herschelle Gibbs though, was the first player to achieve the feat in an international match. He took Netherlands spinner Daan van Bunge to the cleaners at the 2007 World Cup, while India's Yuvraj Singh took 36 off an over bowled by England's Stuart Broad at the 2007 World Twenty20 in Durban.
However, Stoinis' efforts may not be etched in the cricket record books because it was a non-sanctioned practice match. The same happened to Kieron Pollard who matched this feat last year in a similar practice game.
