Lahore:
Pakistan failed to win a single game Down Under, losing both Test and one-day series and then the lone Twenty20 match. The Pakistan Cricket Board formed a six-member committee to find the cause of Pakistan's debacle.
Raquib in his report to the committee has said that Yousuf adopted a defensive approach against Australia and was not willing to sacrifice his place in the side.
He objected to and argued with coach Intikhab Alam when he was dropped from the final one-dayer against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi and then in the final ODI against Australia.
The report also highlights several incidents of indiscipline in New Zealand and Australia and claims that the appointment of Waqar Younis as bowling and fielding coach caused confusion in the team.
The report says that the players were confused after Waqar's appointment as there were already two coaches in the side, Intikhab Alam and Aaqib Javed and players had no clue who to listen to.
Raquib also points out that he fined fast bowlers Umar Gul and Muhammad Aamir Rs 1 lakh each for arguing with each other in New Zealand and also issued a warning to young batsman Umar Akmal for defying management orders.
Raquib on Friday appeared before the committee which started its probe by calling up Shahid Afridi, Younus Khan, Kamran and Umar Akmal and team doctor Dr Faisal initially.
Board sources said that Raquib has asked the committee to recommend to the Board that there should be no compromise on discipline in future and the captain should be appointed on long term basis and on not on make shift basis.
"Raquib also asked the inquiry committee to fine Umar Akmal one million rupees for his behaviour in Australia after the Sydney Test," one source said.
Wasim Akram, who was on the committee, did not attend the hearing due to personal reasons according to the Board. The first hearing was attended by Chairman of the committee, PCB COO Wasim Bari, Wazir Ali Khoja, Yawar Saeed, Zakir Khan and PCB legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi.
Mohammad Yousuf, Intikhab Alam, Salman Butt, Shoaib Malik and Aaqib Javed are scheduled to appear before the committee tomorrow.
Yousuf himself on returning home has blamed two or three players without taking their names directly for causing problems in the team.
Pakistan's rout led to the resignation of chief selector Iqbal Qasim while Intikhab Alam, Kamran Akmal, Rana Naved, Salman Butt were also not picked for the two T20 Internationals against England later this month in Dubai.
Raquib in his report said Yousuf disputing his being dropped from the team for the one-dayer in Abu Dhabi.
"Yousuf, finding his name missing from the playing eleven started arguing with coach Alam that on what grounds 'I have been dropped.' Alam replied that he has been dropped because of poor fielding," the report read.
Younus Khan led Pakistan in the UAE series before withdrawing from the New Zealand tour and Test series against Australia insisting he wanted a break from international cricket and Yousuf replaced him.
