Sune Luus says England played really well but the game but her bowlers bowled well. Applauds the performance of Ayabonga Khaka. Shares they have made history and hopes this is a turning point in sports in general in South Africa. Ends by thanking the crowd for the support. Says she is happy for the team as they play the final for the first time.
Heather Knight says they are gutted. Applauds how South Africa Women played and feels the pressure to big in the end. Hopes to comeback stronger in the future. Reckons they have huge talent but fine margins play a huge role against such big teams. Feels she was listening to the crowd and is happy where Women's cricket is going.
Tazmin Brits is the Player of the Match. She says they dream about this kind of match and thanks the crowd for their incredible support. Adds she understood the pitch well. Reckons they were looking for a score around 150. Tells she is happy with the way she fielded. Feels they are proud for this opportunity and are looking forward to the finals.
...Presentation coming up...
Sciver though held the key and England were favourites when she was batting but once she fell, wickets fell in a heap. It was all onto Knight. She tried her level best but it is the hosts who came out on top. If you can point out one thing which keep South Africa in the chase, it was their fielding. In these two knockout games, hands down, the hosts were brilliant of all and that is a big reason they are going to the finals. Everyone on their bowling side bowled superbly.
England will be disappointed they could not chase this down. They batted brilliantly in the Powerplay courtesy Danni Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley. However, Shabnim Ismail got her side back with a double wicket over. A special thanks to the fielding by Tazmin Brits. Runs though came quickly despite the two wickets. Danni and Sciver put up another good stand and got the chase back on track. Once Danni fell, things changed, runs were hard to come by and except for Sciver, the others struggled.
That is a brilliant comeback from South Africa. What a win, what a morale boosting win for them to storm into the finals. It is England who beat them in the 50-over World Cup sometime ago and they have got their revenge, brilliantly. Absolute scenes at Cape Town.
