Kaushal Silva, Sri Lanka Test opener, was discharged from hospital and told he's fully healthy on Tuesday, two days after he was struck on the head by a cricket ball.
Sri Lanka Cricket said doctors confirmed Silva was mildly concussed by the hit in a practice match, but he was cleared to resume physical activity. Silva will rest for two more days and resume gym and ground training gradually before starting batting practice next week.
Silva was fielding at short leg when a powerful sweep by Dinesh Chandimal struck the back of his head at Pallekele on Sunday, while in camp for the tour of England next month. He was airlifted to Colombo.
Silva turned his head, and the ball hit him below the back rim of the helmet into a padded attachment that was mandated after Phillip Hughes died after he was hit by a ball in Australia in 2014.
Silva has played 24 Tests, and scored 1,404 runs at an average of 31.
Sri Lanka's first of three Tests against England starts at Headingley on May 19.
