The opening ceremony finally comes to an end. The fans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium got to witness many thrilling performances from Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonu Nigam, AR Rahman and other stars. The upcoming IPL opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is slated to begin at 8 PM. 

Along with the office bearers of IPL, captains of RCB and CSK, Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad, respectively have also taken the stage. Gaikwad, who has been newly-appointed as the skipper of CSK, brings the IPL 2024 trophy on stage as CSK are the defending champions.

Legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni has entered the ground to warm-up for the IPL 2024 opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Dhoni, who led CSK to five IPL titles, stepped down as the captain on Thursday. He has now handed over the captaincy to CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.
