The BCCI's Junior Selection Committee announced the Under-19 squad for the World Cup to be played in New Zealand next year from January 16 to 30.

The BCCI's Junior Selection Committee on Sunday announced the Under-19 squad for the World Cup to be played in New Zealand next year from January 16 to 30.

The 15-member squad will be led by Rajasthan Cricket Association's budding talent Ashok Maneria.

Defending champions India will kick off their campaign with a match against Afghanistan on January 15 in Lincoln.

They will then take on Hong Kong two days later in Christchurch, followed by their final game of the group stage against England on January 21.

The top two teams in each group will progress to the quarter-finals.

The squad will undertake a short tour to South Africa prior to the World Cup.

Squad: Ashok Menaria (C), Mandeep Singh (VC), Mayank Agarwal, Akshath Reddy, Harpreet Singh, K L Rahul, Sufiyan Sheikh, Zahid Ali, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkad, Sandeep Sharma, Saurav Netrawalkar, Harmeet Singh, Manan Sharma and Gaurav Jathar.
